'Stop The F*gs': Anti-Gay Activists Are Attacking Same-Sex Marriage Via This Vile Poster

A vile poster attacking same-sex marriage, same-sex parents, and citing a discredited "study" by an American Catholic priest is being used by anti-gay activists in Australia to fight the country's impending plebiscite on marriage equality. The poster includes an illustration depicting a young child huddled in a protective manner and surrounded by two rainbow-colored belts which suggest physical abuse. It has been posted on the streets of Melbourne, Australia, according to ABC News of Australia.

At the top of the poster are the words, "Stop the F*gs," just in case the illustration is insufficient.

It includes the false claim that "92 per cent of children raised by gay parents are abused. 51 per cent have depression. 72 per cent are obese."

Again that's false.

The poster even cites its source, a study by Rev. Paul Sullins, Ph.D., a tenured Associate Professor at The Catholic University of America, a private religious institution in Washington, D.C.

although he was warned this would happen.

All because he hasn't got the guts to call a parliamentary vote, because it would be approved. And that would make the RWNJs in his party all upset.

That poster should fall afoul of all of them...especially with those dog collars or whatever the hell they're meant to be.

Arguments are emotional and of course really mean they're homophobic.

Interesting that the results of the postal vote showed that the biggest single No vote came from Western Sydney - "Bible Belt" territory, and also a high proportion of Muslim voters, so their clerics have been hard at work. Western Sydney is also largely Labor territory, and Labor MPs campaigned hard for the Yes vote. So if they support the Bill currently being debated in Parliament, will they lost votes?

At the same time, in my electorate of Warringah, held by the lunatic Tony Abbott who campaigned loudly (and hysterically) for the No vote, the Yes vote was one of the highest in the country, 75%. You might think that Abbott has also lost touch with his electorate, and perhaps it's time for him to retire.
