There was a school of thought that Wisconsin progressives should wait until November, 2012 to try to recall Scott Walker. Others felt that too much damage was being done and we simply couldn't wait.
As most now know, Walker won and held on to the Governorship. With Mitt tanking and wholly demoralizing the Republican faithful, we might have had a better chance if we had waited.
BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MISTAKE!!!
Don't forget, we flipped the State Senate from red to blue, putting the brakes on the Koch, er, ALEC, er, Walker agenda. Don't doubt for a minute that had the R's held the Senate, Walker would have called a special session to push through more of his criminal/hateful/wasteful policies.
He'll be gone soon enough as the John Doe investigation of his shenanigans is almost certain to put him behind bars. In the meantime, he's been neutered.

(18,964 posts)Although I think the Repubs felt empowered immediately after Walker won (arguably) the recall, I think Mitt has severely damaged the Repub/teabagger brand and he won't survive another term notwithstanding anything in the John Doe.
On edit:
Really, truthfully...I didn't expect the number of dems who didn't believe in recalling Walker and voted to keep him in the Governor's office.

(525 posts)Too bad Wanker's still in, but we did flip the senate, and we've just had a ruling in our favor. We need to stay positive and continue to work for a Democratic Senate and Assembly.
