Despite inviting more than 2,400 people via his event page on Facebook, the parade organizerAnthony Rebellowas the sole parade attendee. No word on where his girlfriend was during the parade. Even with zero support, Anthony say this year's parade was a "warm up" and he's planning to do it again next year.

(23,627 posts)I don't see this taking off as long as it's defined as in opposition to non-heterosexuality. I see it as totally valid for people to love their own sexual orientation. Great - men into women and women into men. I get it. Also, there is so much space for that expression, in my opinion. There's little in the way of anti-heterosexuality as a sort of movement or cultural expression. So, what's the point, other than opposition to non-heterosexuality? Boring.

(9,753 posts)During Seattle's most recent 'real' Pride Parade last June. You know, right after the SCOTUS affirmed marriage equality. It was a very special day. Gays and straights mingled in mutual glee (and no small amount of surprise that the Supremes had done the right thing).
Two high points: Viewing the rainbow flag from the Space Needle (the darn thing was a full block long) and witnessing the crowd shouting down a clot of Westboro-wannabees with chants of "Love Won" until they had to quit the scene with their reptilian tails tucked between their legs.
