Pine Street re-opened to traffic for first time in a month after 'CHOP' is cleared

SEATTLE — Things have been quieter today near the former 'Capitol Hill Occupied Protest' and there are signs of progress.

Pine Street is back open to traffic for the first time in about a month but there are still barriers on some surrounding streets, like 10th Street, 11th Street and Nagle.

No more police check points and the lunch rush is starting to pick up again. Capitol Hill is starting to look like Capitol Hill before it turned into the “CHOP.”

Technically this area is still closed for a few more days under Mayor Jenny Durkan's emergency order used to clear out protesters earlier in the week.
