(18,063 posts)1. Both Castro brothers are rising stars
This reminds me of a young state senator from Illinois and when he delivered a key note address in 2004.
You know this guy!

(18,063 posts)2. From an e-mail blast from his brother Joaquin (who is running for Congress)
It was announced today that my brother Julian will deliver the Keynote Address at the National Democratic Convention in Charlotte, NC.
This will be the first Democratic Keynote Address by a San Antonian and the first for a Latino American. He will follow in the footsteps of great Texans like Congresswoman Barbara Jordan and Governor Ann Richards who also had this honor.
I couldn't be more proud of my brother and San Antonio.
This is a historic opportunity to share our city's story with the nation and continue building out the Infrastructure of Opportunity so folks from every walk of life can pursue their American Dreams.
Let's go win this together.
Sincerely,
Joaquin Castro
