Maypearl police chief surrenders on four felony charges alleging sexual relationship with teen

The Maypearl police chief turned himself in on Wednesday afternoon on four felony charges that allege he pursued a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl for two years.
Kevin Coffey, 49, faces felony charges of indecency with a child by exposure, indecency with a child by contact, sexual performance by a child and sexual assault of a child, according to the Ellis County District Attorneys office.
The girls parents told authorities that Coffey first contacted the teen on Facebook when she was 14 years old, according to a search warrant served on his house.
Coffey repeatedly commented on the girls physical features and sent her Facebook messages like Ill cuff u and put u on the hood again and smack that ass lol, according to the warrant. He showed her police offices and allowed her access to the departments records.
