AUSTIN -- Austin police have found the missing monocled cobra that may be connected to the death of an 18-year-old Temple man. The snake was found dead not far from the place where police believed it went missing.
The cobra belonged to Grant Thompson. Thompson was found unresponsive Tuesday evening in his vehicle in the Lowe's parking lot along the 13000 block of the southbound Interstate 35 service road in Austin.
He was transported to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center where he later died.
APD believes the cobra was inside Thompson's vehicle.
