I have been ask to be a republican election judge on Tuesday

My youngest child is going to be the democratic election judge for my precinct on Tuesday. Normally it is the democrats who have problems getting enough judges. Today the republican election judge for my precinct canceled. I have a great relationship with my county election administrator and so he ask me to be the GOP election judge on Tuesday. The election administrator calls this being a republican for a day. In the interests of good relations with the election office, I will be the judge for this primary.

My daughter and I have already voted in the democratic primary. This could be fun. As a practical matter an election judge can not influence a voter without breaking the law. You take an oath just before the polls open.

I've never heard of that happening. The Alt-Judge couldn't take over?

I needed a third for my precinct, and couldn't find anyone. I wanted to use a family member who votes Democratic, but since that person lives in another county, I wasn't allowed. I was told they had to be a Democrat and registered in the county in order to work.

Because we are responsible for the extra work, it makes sense for me to volunteer and help out

however being a Republican for a day would be a trigger for suicidal ideation.

or tie. It's Tea Party code. As a middle-aged white guy who has been able to blend in at King Street Patriot meetings wearing something like this, the only real problem you will have is when your toxicity meter starts to red-line, and you'll have to suppress a severe gag reflex. You will be speechless at what these people will say to you when their guard is down. Polling places, to be clear, are fairly tamer than club meetings.

Too bad you can't run their precinct convention.

This could be fun. The democrats are not having caucuses after the primary but I will have the matter is for the GOP caucuses. I can not pass out the material until after polls are closed.

I enjoyed the training. My county election administrator did a great job. Being an election judge will help me run the voter protection program in the fall.

My coworkers were great but some of the republican voters were jerks. I hate the voter id law but we only had one problem and the lady sent her husband home to get her id. I ended with no provisional ballots cast ay my location

I really hope that we win the voter id trial in September.
