TN State Rep. Pearson: Our democracy can't become a GOP 'mobocracy' - The Last Word - MSNBC

State Rep. Justin J. Pearson, who was expelled from the Tennessee House for protesting gun violence and reinstated, joins MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell to discuss which issues he’s focusing on in his special election campaign to keep his seat, the possibility of action to address gun violence and what’s it like working with Republicans in an institution he says is “still rooted in white supremacy.” - Aired on 05/30/2023.

He made one hell of a state wide impression and the whole country was watching.

Because they couldn't agree on the district lines, there was one primary for governor and lieutenant governor and a later one for congressional candidates. I voted in both, but poll workers were glad to see me since the place was nearly empty. So I'm hoping that voters turn out just to vote for him, though it's obvious he already has overwhelming support.

The Democratic candidate I voted for in the primary lost - he was an attorney who was a lifelong resident and only lives a little way up north. His Democratic opponent was new to the district, but he won, anyway. As for the general, you already know the answer, it was Stefanik again. And I found out from the husband of my friend who ran for State Senate, that Stefanik and the incumbent Republican who defeated my friend held a Republican meetup locally early on election night where they not only claimed victory - but she endorsed TFG for 2024.
