The Ohio River is close to flood stage

Here is a story from The Marietta Times: https://www.mariettatimes.com/news/2024/04/flooding-closes-schools-ohio-river-continues-to-rise/

The river is supposed to crest tomorrow at 39.9 ft., just 1/10th of an inch under severe flooding. My neighborhood is out of the flood zone, and Rt. 7 will probably stay open. In town, some of the streets closer to the river are closed today, due to high water.

lol

Stay safe and dry. The creeks can be worse than the rivers.

and they are swollen as well, but the Miami itself isn't at flood stage. I was coming back from visiting my Mom today and had to detour because a creek had come out of its banks and closed down a country road. Waiting for the 6:00 news tonight to tell me about someone who insisted on driving through deep water and then had to be rescued as a result.

Rt. 7 was okay. I cross the Little Muskingum River, and the surface was very close to the underside of the bridge. The lady who runs the vintage market said she had to detour coming in from the west side of town.

Rt. 7 (Pike St) at Acme St is closed. The streets on the south side of Rt. 7 are closed. The streets in Harmar (west side of the Muskingum River) are closed. Many of the county roads are closed due to high water in low spots. The Ohio is supposed to crest at 40.3 ft. at the Marietta Pump Station. That is a major flood.

and it was up out of its banks, but the local news hasn't hit the panic button yet because - I'm guessing - it's not high near downtown, only out in the boonies. It was the same for the Stillwater River, which wasn't looking all that still, truth be told. Looks like we're due for some dry weather in the coming days so hopefully this is as bad as it gets.

7. The last few years if it flooded

It was small streams. The rivers rose, but didn't get swollen like they are this year. I hope the rain feeding southern Ohio do slack off. Be careful driving!

We went on an errand out of town today, and in the few hours we were on the road saw sun, fog, rain, sleet, and if slush falls from the sky, slush, and snow. And it was changing every few miles. We were southeast of Marietta, and didn't see flooding, just crazy weather.
