So I've got no experience here. But it seems crazy that a gun is so easy to fire that a two-year-old can find one in a purse and shoot. Toddlers can't go to the toilet on their own. What about the safety? And does pulling a trigger take so little strength?

But apparently, this brand of pistol is available in a 'no safety' model.

But, as far as I know, any gun can be stored with the safety 'off'.

When there is a bullet in the chamber, the firing pin is already back. All the trigger does is release it.

It takes very little pressure. A toddler could easily fire one.

Active safeties should be required on all personal firearms (non leo). Fines should be yuge for chambered rounds.

Bs on the speed argument. Take a class. Practice. It is a second or two.

accidentally fired guns and killed people. A 3-year-old shot his 7-year-old brother near where I live last year.
The parents had a loaded gun under their bed. It was all kept quiet, as far as I know nobody was ever charged.

The MAGA Republicans and the NRA have waged a successful campaign not only agains firearms restrictions, but also firearms training. I do not favor banning all firearms,, but I strongly believe that gun owners should be forced to take gun safet classes, particularly in built-up areas.

Waverly is in the heart of southern Ohio's drug belt. I don't even like driving down US23 -- let alone stopping there.

I am cognizant of the exits, the escape routes, the employee only doors. Be prepared to sprint at any time.

The lower the IQ the more ballistic capability.

and it seems pretty obvious there's a much greater chance of accidentally firing the gun while trying to find a breath mint than there is of successfully accessing the gun in the very rare situation where it might be useful.

A Taurus that actually works.

That being said ,this a good example of what can happen carrying a gun off body.
They make purses for men and women(yes men) for carrying pistols but still its a good way for someone to easily take.
And yes some handguns don't have safeties. No revolver built has one. Glock pistols have no external safeties as do some other manufacturers.

As to this mother she should be prosecuted for not keeping her firearm secure. Be made an example for other gun owners to keep their guns secure.
And for buying a Taurus.

I do hope they charge her sufficiently that she is an example to all other people who are careless with their weapons in public.

Glad you're here.

Watch the video:

This demonstrates exactly how even a 2-year old could fire that gun, even with the "safety" on.
