More from Ohio....She miscarried at home & has been charged with abuse of a coprse

Title-Woman’s miscarriage leads to ‘abuse of corpse’ case before grand jury
Nadine Grimley

snip-"The case against a Warren woman charged with abuse of a corpse is now headed to a Trumbull County grand jury.

Brittany Watts, 33, was overcome with emotion Thursday afternoon after learning her case is moving forward. Watts is charged with felony abuse of a corpse, accused of trying to plunge a toilet after having a miscarriage delivery at 22 weeks while using the restroom.

snip-"She said she felt the baby come out and there was a big splash,” said Det. Nick Carney, with the Warren Police Department.

Forensic pathologist Dr. George Sterbenz testified an autopsy found no injury to the fetus, and that the unborn fetus had died before passing through the birth canal. He said Watts’ medical records showed she visited the hospital twice before the delivery."

Poor thing was less than a pound, maybe 9” long, and already dead. And the woman had already visited the hospital twice and apparently been sent away.

What the hell was she supposed to do?!

To have this sad thing happen and then deal with the political fallout. Every woman should fear a miscarriage in this state because as we know we are guilty before proven innocent. Go ahead and charge her and let the state pay her for miscarriage of justice! This really needs to stop!

I checked around online for a legal defense fund for Watts but couldn't find one. If there is one, I'll donate to it.

I hate that they called her a girl. This poor WOMAN didn't have a miscarriage, she had a stillbirth.

The hospital sent her home despite the fact that there was no fetal heartbeat.

She had to go home to face the delivery alone, knowing her baby was already dead.

The doctors and hospital may have had no choice. This is all on the Republicans for these horrible laws.

It sounds like so many stories we've heard of incomplete miscarriages that doctors are being prevented from treating properly during to stupid draconian laws.

Furthermore, any law that forbids the removal of an already dead fetus from a woman's body is massively stupid and epically asinine!

Many people don't realize that these laws don't just prevent women from choosing to terminate pregnancies. These laws prevent doctors from providing life-giving care to mothers who are having miscarriages.

Republicans who claim this isn't true are lying.

She had gone to the doctors twice complaining about pain. They did nothing.

Yet she was never charged with any crime.

This is ridiculous. Did they expect her to put her hand in the bloody water in the toilet to dig around for the small shape that might be the tiny fetus? She would probably have to pull apart strands of bloody placenta to be able to find it inside the afterbirth mass.

These Christian men are F**king crazy. Monitoring toilets of women who miscarry now?

She didn't abuse a corpse since it wasn't fully alive.

Once again, I call for all women of Ohio to send their used menstrual products to Judg Ivanchak so that s/he can determine whether or not a crime, miscarriage, has been committed.

The clueless fuck has no clue about how traumatic a late miscarriage is to a woman and how trauma affects her thinking. The only problem here seems to be that some man had to confront the mess in the toilet.

It was, at hat point, medical waste, not a corpse. It was never alive outside her body.

And ferkrissake, premature rupture of the membranes and fetal death should mean getting that dead fetal material out immediately, not forcing women to walk around with a dead fetus decaying inside them until the women go into septic shock if they don't expel it quickly enough.

Seems like there is far more concern for a dead fetus than the woman who had a miscarriage. Absolutely disgusting.
