Washington County Ohio primary for Municipal Judge

This is a r primary, for May 2. Randall Jedlink is running against Amy Bean. Jedlink was born in Illinois, went to Purdue U. then Toledo, where he met his future wife. He's been around Marietta for several years, but isn't a native of Washington County. His opponent is Amy Bean, a lifelong resident of Washington County. They are both lawyers, both experienced. I hope that local r's prefer someone with stronger ties to the area.

I wouldn't have paid attention, but jedlink has numerous giant signs all over the county and a boatload of smaller signs all over as well. Bean signage is less visible. Ever since I noticed the overkill on signage, I wondered who jedlink is, and what his connection to this area is. Turns out, he's a transplant and who knows how he ended up in Washington County. I'm interested in knowing where he got all the money for signage, why he is sinking all that money into a primary to run for municipal judge. Just found out that he isn't the first choice among some of the r's I know.

When someone appears before a judge, and the person is trying to get bail, the lawyers usually mention ties to the community as one of the tings to consider. I can't help thinking when somebody campaigns to be a judge, the citizens should see what ties the judge has to the community.

Washington Cty has been red for as long as I can remember, so one of these people will probably get the position. I kind of hope the lifelong resident gets the seat.
