I’ll turn on the live streams. Need to stay vigilant for the welfare of demonstrators.

I don’t know what to say about the vicious act of removing the man’s limbs. It shouldn’t have happened, they violated his rights, and is deeply disturbing.

have declared war on us, and this is how they make sure we notice. They have no intent to change their ways and will become increasingly more vicious until we make them stop.

I’d sentence these pathetic excuses for cops to live the rest of their lives as amputees.

Not to mention we do need the police to respond to actual crimes so we are going to slowly implement changes.
Two that can be done now are tightening up on the qualifications for becoming a police officer as well as firing and or reassigning to desk duty officers with a significant number of reprehends and or complaints.

And yet ACAB is still true. While they may individually be mainly wonderful well meaning people who want to make communities a better place, The plethora of bad apples combined with the nearly complete institutional corruption means that not one single officer on duty can be trusted to do the right thing.

As to the rest.. Slowly implementing changes has gotten us nowhere. Its been a work in progress for longer than my life, and yet actually gone the wrong direction over that time. Reform has failed. Its time to end them and start over. Not necessarily in that order exactly.

But even worst case, we dont really need them except maybe as a temporary stopgap until we put a new system into place. And that level of need leaves no reason not to do some extreme budget cutting right now. Any city that cuts any services other than police budget right now is making a mistake.

We can get into my personal experiences and why I dont think we need them to respond to crimes if you like, but thats a longer message than id care to get into if you aren't actively interested.

Doing so right away though would go a long way to address part of the problem now as well as into future with tighter requirements on who can and cannot be a police officer.

And be easier to do.

People have been trying to do those things for years. The police unions have not allowed them to happen. Whenever a officer is fired for doing things wrong.. they are soon reinstituted, with back pay, and usually end up better off than they started. And increasing the qualifications for being a police officer would require either the complete restart i find myself in favor of, or a many many year process where we slowly let old officers retire and replace them with better qualified candidates, during which time the old officers will fully outnumber and indoctrinate the new ones thus making the whole process pointless

The system we have is not capable of reform at the level needed. The culture of it is rotten through and through. This needs a full transplant, not some minor cosmetic makeover.

And that's a good thing, or else the cops would just lie about it and say he fell over and his prostheses came off.

This is disgusting.
