Voter number 94 at my precinct in Durham

place was jumping and Democrats were outside greeting voters.

I had to fight back the tears. Voting chokes me up especially when I am acutely aware of how important it is. I grew up in CA and we were pretty reliably blue. I've voted more here in NC than I did in my whole 52 years in CA.

I need to breathe because I'm so anxious. Not that we won't get the votes to win, but that republicans will not accept that they lost and will continue to make life miserable for the foreseeable future.

Ty for doing your part!

Glad to hear Dems were on duty greeting voters!

I voted last Thurs in rural TN. Lots of women voting alone, which might prove to be significant for this red hellhole.

NOW. Time is of the essence. If you can, vote now, vote before you do anything else. We got a blue wave swelling, let's make it a tidal wave, a rogue wave, a tsunami.

I got here in 2007 and was here when Obama won the state. I know the Blue is here, it's just republicans that ruin it.

I was incensed a while back when the GOP kneecapped the new Dem. Gov. in NC, and another in Wisc. I think. Outrageous.

Anyway, take care & here's to a great day for democracy in North Carolina, and the entire US!

I SO hope Cheri Beasley wins, and Evers and Inman. Also Valerie Foushee - though I expect her to win David Price's seat since he's retiring.

I wanted to walk into my precinct on election day. My son and I went together.

My conservative friend is terrified of Budd winning. She and her 2 conservative siblings will all be voting for Beasley, though she reports this with distaste.

I don't have any work today so I might just take a chill pill. I need to find other things to think about for awhile.

My son came home too from school to early vote last Thursday and I went with him.

Usually I vote on election day because it used to be exciting but with all the strife that's been going on it's lost something.

So today I have taken a chill pill and I have the music blasting.

playing online poker (not for money of course since this is NC), and just hanging with my little chihuahua.

I love going to vote with my children. It's like I give myself a pat on the back whenever it happens. Especially this one; he refused to vote in the primary and can be quite stubborn. But this election, he understands the stakes.

Just to pass the time I'm building a list of all the countries on the website where I play poker. I'm up to 53 different countries!

Anything to occupy my mind during these helpless hours of not knowing what will happen.

I've told my son his entire life it's the most important thing he can do for himself and his country. He said there are a lot of students campaigning to get people to vote at his school and all his friends are enthusiastic to vote this time. Hopefully they are waking up.

Yesterday to keep my mind off things I went dark...down a hole of wwii and the terrible things that were done to the jewish people and the chinese. I think my head left my body for a little while.

Maybe I should give poker a try since I already play pc games.
