it is that time of the year again. looking for volunteer gift wrappers in North east NJ

I volunteer for a 501c3 charity and need some help wrapping presents in Barnes and Noble in exchange for donation to the charity, we usually earn a nice amount that helps the programs. If anyone has time, please send me a message and I can send you the dates and times. The locations I am working this year is Clifton, Paramus and Woodland Park. The selling point is that I can give community service hours for volunteering for an easy peasy job. wrapping mostly square gifts.

Thanks for considering it.

It would be great but I am not sure this project would qualify, it is not about health as much fun. hollysmom Nov 2014 #2

I can certainly give you a plug at Your HHRS News.com! The home page is currently "celebrating" diabetes awareness month.

Here are stories I ran for children's cancer in Swedesboro, a blood donation drive in Mahwah, and a local mental illness speakers program -- I'm always on the hunt for New Jersey health, medical, fitness, and nutrition events and fundraisers. In fact, I actually have a list of "awareness" weeks and months for every month of the year!

It is the National Inclusion Project which works with partners to include children with disabilities with typical children so they can feel included in play activities. I think any article about them has to go through them.

Here is their premise:
Inclusion means all participate and all belong.

Our mission: To bridge the gap that exists between young people with disabilities and the world around them. We partner with communities and inclusive programs creating awareness about the possibilities that inclusion can bring.

We work every year with recreational programs such as YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs and Girl Scouts to open doors for kids with and without disabilities to be included together and experience all that life has to offer. No one should sit on the sidelines!

At this years gala we heard they were starting to work with Zoos and museum to make sure kids with disabilities can be included in their programs as well. They provide training and sometimes special equipment to existing rec programs so they can take all children even those with physical or developmental disabilities.

I am just trying to earn some money for them locally, last year I made over $1000 through the stores I scheduled, this year I have twice as many, but not repeat wrappers, so I have to recruit from any and every where because I will be in trouble if I have to do it alone. Last year I did half the time alone and was told not to do that again, but people cancel at the last second, one person fell off a bus and I lost them for 4 dates. I thought I would try here, you never know if people have time to volunteer.

Thank you for your kind reply.

Send me the dates, times, and contact person, and I'll promote them with a video I found on their YouTube channel.
