A letter from the Editors regarding Daines. Wow!

https://www.bozemandailychronicle.com/opinions/editorials/daines-needs-open-mind-to-weigh-impeachment/article_75268235-b838-5ec7-88dd-dacd429ab4a4.html?fbclid=IwAR2sp-WZI6LGgX3w-dSJOHUUdb7rtjg0RPZuH3Uf9-rznxmtpxXZd-nYqZQ

Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines has been about as vocal as any senator in his disdain for Democrats’ efforts to impeach President Trump. He has posted a video calling the effort an “obsession” and an “unprecedented impeachment sham.” He has spoken openly on cable television in defense of the president.

And that’s his prerogative. No matter how vehemently you may disagree with a U.S. senator, good luck trying to silence him or her.

But things changed for Daines on Thursday, when and other senators took an oath swearing that in the upcoming impeachment trial: “I will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws, so help me God.”

of how he arrives at his decision in this matter, and not just some blithe dismissal as a “scam,” “sham,” “hoax” or “witch hunt.” He should release an extensive statement evaluating all the evidence documented – and some is quite compelling – and how that evidence affected his final decision. Does he not believe the case presented by House Democrats? Does he disagree that the allegations represent impeachable offenses? These questions will demand answers.'

None of these GOP "impartial jurors", including lawyers like Lindsey Graham, will be impartial. The verdict is already in for them. This will be a Soviet style show trial, with a reversal in that the defendant will be found innocent.

We all know they are not impartial but that WAS NOT the point of the article.

Both Daines and Gianforte avoid town halls and the general public. They both need to go away to......f'ing wherever they crawled out from.

I don’t trust Daines for a minute...just like the rest of you. It makes me sick that he could take that oath and then intend to betray America. I guess he could surprise us but he has shown us who he is, unfortunately.

On another note...I so appreciate all of you from Big Sky Country gathered here on DU. Love you all.

Look out Montana, Defines was recently in Texas begging large conservative “Christian” funders and saying he needed $12 million to defeat the current governor should the governor file for the senate seat. This is not exactly the voice of local Montana people. I heard this from eye witness who attended the fundraiser.
