Batch Ice Cream Made in Massachusetts

Made in Massachusetts.
No chemical additives
You can pronounce and are very familiar with every ingredient
Fair Trade
Delicious (Full disclosure: So far, I've tried only one flavor, namely salted caramel)

What's not to like?

But, I prefer cow's milk cheeses to goat cheeses, so I guess I might prefer Batch to goat milk ice cream, even the homemade variety.

I have a very dim memory of my mom making a batch or two of ice cream with rock salt. She must have borrowed the thingie, though, or broken it, or decided it was just too much trouble, because she never made ice cream again.

5. What I have not found recently: a rich, rich chocolately chocolate ice cream

with no ingredients that I could not identify when I was 10 years old.

But, I think I could do with some ginger ice cream with a side of sliced mangoes.

That salted carame, aka Sea Salt Carametl, l is also yummy and, for me, the Black Cherry Amaretto is to die for.

Not, as my nephew says, "to die from."

I can pronounce all the ingredients in both those flavors, though the same is not true of all the gelatto flavors.

My challenge is that I try to keep away from carbs. Some day I hope to get an ice cream maker and experiment using stevia instead of sugar. The "low carb" ice creams that are sold in the stores are not really all that low-carb, and the serving size is 1/2 cup. Bwahahaha! 1/2 cup. That's how much I leave in the corners of the carton.

I would like to make some ginger and maybe some pineapple ice cream. Nice to think about.

When we were little, a man in the neighborhood made ices and sold them out of his garage. One of his flavors was chocolate ice. There is not a city my sister visits where she doesn't try to find chocolate ice, but neither of us have found homemade chocolate ice since. Anyway, if you can make a really tasty ice, you'll have it made.

Someone should let them know that the "where to buy" map on their site is a mess, e.g., they show a Newtonville supermarket in Newton Centre.
