Anybody in the Indy area work out at Amazon Fulfillment?

What is it like there? Do they have part-time hours? Is there a shuttle bus out there ( I heard there was).

I haven't had time to look at the videos and radio shows yet (I have a history paper due at school), but I have seen the horror stories here on DU. I have noticed, however, that none of them mention the facility here. The employment ad does list decent pay and benefits, and a climate-controlled working environment. If I do apply, I will find out soon enough what is true.

for about 6-7 months this fall through winter.
It is tough manual work; they are quite rigid with breaks and restroom stops. You have to work steadily and as quickly as possible.
Son did quite well and was hired when they were laying off people after Christmas returns were complete. However, he was very tired at the end of each 9-10 hour workday. He left in April for a job more suited t his past work experience.

And their experience mirrors your son's. The workdays are long, the breaks are few, and the money at the end of the day really doesn't compensate. It is hard, hard labor.

They have very strict attendance and productivity standards. Little or no tolerance for sick days or late arrivals. Pick lists are timed and you have to be fast.

Only mention of a shuttle bus that I've seen was in the Zionsville paper but it was listed as "possible solutions" to traffic congestion.
