California
Related: About this forumI just learned that Covered California terminated my insurance without my knowledge!
I just moved to California and was wondering if Covered California has some glitches that I should know about. I checked with my insurance carrier and I was not terminated for non-payment. I found a recent letter that states that I do not qualify for Medi-Cal but I certainly qualify for subsidies.
As a cancer survivor it is very distressing to find that my insurance can be terminated without any notification or opportunity to find other options. I hope a quick call to Covered CA can restore my insurance and that I don't pop a rib (this happens) or experience a recurrence before then. I am just shocked that this could happen!

(3,427 posts)If you've paid your premiums on time, there's no reason your insurance should be terminated. Since you recently moved there, was there some documentation that Covered California wanted you to provide to prove your residence or eligibility? That's the only possibility I can think of. I hope you can get this cleared up and get your insurance back.

(5,823 posts)Covered California on Monday to get more information. Covered CA and my local social services office confirmed my income which was pretty easy since I only receive SSDI. I think there is some glitch in the system. It makes no sense.
Thanks for the input!
