State pays $120K sex-discrimination settlement to 2 ex-Lottery execs

The state has paid $120,000 to settle a federal sex discrimination suit filed by two former Arizona Lottery executives who alleged ex-Director Tony Bouie had engaged in retaliation and wrongly fired them.

Karen Bach, the lottery's former director of products and communications, and Jessica Reimann, its former marketing and advertising director, each were paid $60,000 by the state in late June to settle their lawsuit against Bouie.

The Arizona Republic
, after filing a public records request, received a document Friday from the state Department of Administration indicating the settlement was paid. Federal court records show the case was settled this month.

Efforts to reach attorneys for the women and Bouie were unsuccessful.
