On this day, January 19, 1926, Fritz Weaver was born.

Oh, THAT guy. He's sort of Jason Robards' body double.

Jason Robards:

Fritz Weaver

Born: Fritz William Weaver; January 19, 1926; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.

Fritz William Weaver (January 19, 1926 – November 26, 2016) was an American actor in television, stage, and motion pictures. He portrayed Dr. Josef Weiss in the 1978 epic television drama, Holocaust. In cinema, he made his debut in the film Fail Safe (1964) and also appeared in Marathon Man (1976), Creepshow (1982) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). Among many television roles, he performed in two seminal projects: the movie The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975) and the mini-series Holocaust (1978), for which Weaver was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. There's a "Twilight Zone" YouTube channel, but it's not making clips available.

This is the one role that I'll always remember Dom DeLuise for. It's one of his rare dramatic roles -- a bit part in Sidney Lumet's 1964 cold war thriller, FAIL-SAFE. His anguished take as the Air Force Sergeant (Collins) ordered to give his Soviet counterparts the technical secrets toward defeating our Hustler bombers on their mistaken bomb run was something very special in a film full of great performances. It was exceptional because, for someone not formally trained, he masterfully conveyed the character's conflict with his struggled delivery of the information while in an impossibly tense situation. When his character is done and sits down, you can clearly see the suffering he'll have to live with from that moment forward. What he does with this small role was nothing short of amazing. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Fritz Weaver even appeared in an episode of "Wonder Woman." Hey, it's a gig.
