The Last of Us EP6 (Light spoilers)

Well then! I enjoy they followed the arc to that safe haven where Joel's brother is.

Take aways from the episode and game. Maria is black in the show, while white in the game. But they expanded on her story which is great. She only spoke a few times in the game. They decided to remove the scene where Ellie runs away in the game and you have to chase her to a ranch house where raiders show up.

My biggest take away was removing the scene from the game where Joel falls 20 ft at Colorado University scene and gets fully impaled by a rebar. I'm so glad in the show they changed it to stabbing. Realistically in the game, Joel would have never survived a 20ft drop and getting a full on rusty piece of rebar through his mid torso. He should have died in game. No way a 14 year old girl would have been able to nurse him back to health without proper medical equipment. A stab with a small knife is survivable.

Also they did remove a lot of the university section from the show. But then again that section of the video game was legit 95% exploring the level, getting supplies, reading notes and such.

Another thing is that they made Joel more human in the show. In the game, he's so robotic and lacks severe emotion. But he is also built like a tank in the game where he can punch anything and kill anyone without much issue. The show is more grounded how killing things like people and infected are much more complicated.

Overall the episode was great and was more grounded in reality this time.

Lots of Easter eggs in this episode if the show continues to mostly follow the events of the games. LonePirate Feb 2023 #1

Dina I believe was one of them. You can see her staring at Ellie when they are eating dinner. I'm excited to see part 2 in season. I have a feeling a lot of backlash will happen like when the game released. So many transphobic people attacking a character that wasn't even trans, she was buff.

But next episode is the Left Behind DLC. I'm excited for that. I wonder how they'll change it up?

I think it was the broken end of a wooden baseball bat. Like a wooden stake. Should have left it in.

She is just killing it.

I didn't play the game (I know the basic story lines and the big plot points of what happens), but I'm loving every episode.

Not the zombies, but the humans callously murdering anyone who is trying to restore order and civilization.

We see them in nearly every aspect of modern-day civic conflict; belligerent bearded bullies who swagger around with deadly weapons, and say "motherfucker" a lot.

They scare me more than any zombie ever could. Because they, unlike the zombies, are expected to have at least a little humanity about them, but they have none. They're the brainless killers we expect the zombies to be.

I agree. But they aren't zombies since zombies are undead corpses. They are infected with fungus. They are hiveminded creatures that are still human but being controlled.

But I agree. Humans like FEDRA want total control over everything
