The huge apparent size of the Moon is a good example of "depth compression" with telephoto lenses.

(Edit) It's also a good example of careful planning. At that scale, the Moon would appear to move fairly rapidly. From any given spot, it would only be in the center of that arch for a few seconds. (I'm assuming the photographer didn't "cheat" by superimposing the Moon there, but if he did, I'll give him "artistic license.&quot
