to YouTube because as software and firmware updates are applied the written manual is obsolete. May I suggest you start there? Do a search on your camera model and see what pops up. You can also search on generic photography themes, i.e. 'close up', 'travel' or anything that suits your interests.

Manufacturers also have facebook pages. That's the only reason I haven't completely closed my account there.

After that it's all in the eye!
