(16,850 posts)I was walking on a bridge in Nashville over the main rail yard...that train was starting to leave and it seemed like an interesting pic. I took it on my iPhone about an hour ago

(4,787 posts)I assume that the cream effect is from a post-processing filter? I like it.
The size caused it to overrun my monitor. But I was able to right-click on it and open it in another tab, to see it all at once. (The initial view makes it fit the window when you do that.)

(14,488 posts)Lots of fond memories of Nashville from my youth. I was raised next door in Wilson Co. Huge treat this time of year when I was little, when Mom would take me downtown for the annual Christmas shopping trip, going to Harvey's Dept. Store and eating at the Crystal.
Spent a little time chasing the music industry too, on the technical side.
Oddly enough, there's a chance some of those auto transport cars have ran right by my house here in north central KY, mostly from Ford plants.
Small world, Docreed.......

(14,488 posts)Sumner County - adjoins my original home county of Wilson. Just a few fond memories....
* There was a big hill we climbed often as kids just outside my little home town and from there we could easily see the Gallatin Power House stacks.
* In my senior HS year, our little team of farm boys kicked Lebanon's team's ass in a country bowl football game, held in Westmoreland, either late 1964 or early 1965 (the year I graduated). Too damned old to even remember what the bowl event was called, but it may have been The Strawberry Bowl.
* My folks went to Portland almost every year to pick strawberries to can or freeze. One of my very best friends in college was from Portland at Tech. We were both ham radio operators, married and in engineering school.
* My family and I drove through the area on Hwy 31 to 231 on the way home many, many times from our current home in KY.
This Wiki page shows a TN/KY border sign on 32E/231 and I've think I've seen that sign hundreds of times on the way home into Wilson County.....see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumner_County,_Tennessee
Enjoyed sharing TN memories here. Have a great Thanksgiving weekend!.......

(16,850 posts)I bet you and I are only a handful of folks who even know where Westmorland is located!
I grew up very close to there, not to far from where 231 connects to 31-E.
Appreciate you sharing your memories!
