In my experience, it is impossible to have a bad French meal in Paris. Everything we ate was amazing, gorgeous and tasty!

It was a great dessert........I did so much walking that I actually lost a few pounds while I was there!

I did have a great vacation.......

it definitely is food porn when the food photos are practically orgasmic just to look at!

I won't judge anyone who had the pleasure of eating them, though.

Good lord that Eggs Benedict is a work of ART, man.

Given prices in Paris I have to think was like a $50 dish ...

It all looks killer though!

I don't remember how much it was. We found this wonderful cafe near our hotel and we had breakfast there every morning.

The proprietors were amazing and lovely people and we all bonded. We were sad to leave them at the end of our week and they were sorry to see us leave too.

Dining in Paris can be very expensive in the gastronomic temples or in the restaurants of luxury hotels. But that is true most anywhere in the world. For the most part, the cost of meals is a lot like it is here in the US given the current euro-dollar exchange rates. Remember that European menu prices already include all the taxes and usually include the service charge. In the US, we typically must add 20-30% to get comparable prices (sales tax plus tip).

I really wanted to make another (probably my last trip) to Paris. And my niece wanted to go too. So we made our plans and went.

The food was amazing and we didn't have to walk far to get it. There were at least half a dozen restaurants within about a block or so of our hotel. So easy!

It was a very special week.

They are lovely and they take me back to a special time in our lives - we got back from Paris and Normandy a few weeks before the 2016 election. Last time I felt truly happy was in France.

The food. My God, the food...

I'm in Paris now for a few days at the end of a six week visit traveling around France. I am a long time Francophile and come to visit friends as often as my budget allows. I had the most amazing Cafe gourmand this year in Toulon. I wish I could share the picture I took with you, but I don't have the skills necessary to post it. You just have to take my word that it was "poetry in motion."

Thanks for sharing your yummy treats!

I've been around France and Paris on several occasions and I always love being there.

I wanted to get back for perhaps my last visit since my photos from prior visits did not make me very happy. They were film and I wanted to do much better! Digital works superbly and I love shooting it.

I can believe your photo was "poetry in motion!"

I was told they get their avocados from Mexico and we saw them quite a lot. No idea what they cost, though.

They were in perfect shape.

It's the Melia-Notre Dame Hotel. It's small, with variable rooms. Some (like ours) were very cozy! We wanted twin beds and we got them, but they were pushed together but with the bedding separated! As I say, very cozy! Hardly any storage space. The bathroom was huge but no shelf space to speak of. But we didn't mind, since the location was perfect.

Tiny elevator but I used it all the time. The folks behind the desk were outstanding! Very helpful on whatever we wanted.

Which photo had the mousse?

I doubt that it would--any added calories would be burned off by all the walking you do!

But Paris is definitely worth a trip. Wonderful, gorgeous city!
