(10,136 posts)The only thing I want to do is +20 on the saturation to bring out the yellows and greens in the foreground.

(17,090 posts)I'm probably not describing it right, but it works for me.

(10,136 posts)Bumping up the saturation did change the feel of the shot.
Either way, great sky and good composition!

(19,459 posts)Hence Dreamscape
It's probably just me but it seems to touch on some inner angst I've got going.

The sky is very blue just out of frame. Those clouds were coming up very quickly!
I keep wanting to title this shot "Don't just stand there Treebeard...RUN!!!" (hopefully not too obscure a reference to Tolkien's trilogy).
Edit: And...now that I see your sig line I realize you wouldn't find it obscure at all.
another edit: ...YOU...I meant "you" not "it"...

(15,812 posts)I knew you had some more winners in the photos you saved. This is a near perfect landscape, to me. Honestly there isn't a more powerful landscape than sunlight in the foreground, and darkness in the background, all due to natural light. And perfectly composed! The fence on the right, in combination with the rise to the left...................... well, that is pretty amazing.
I can't go on enough about this photo. I'm a lover of landscapes, and this one may be my favorite one posted in this group.

(19,459 posts)Those clouds came up fast. I only had my Canon SX200 IS point&shoot at hand, and (as always) my hands are too shaky without a tripod for nice, tack-sharp photos. Putting it in Lightroom to de-saturate and crispen it up a bit left me with some foreground artifacts and noise.
I really like this photo too; it's been sitting in my files since last year because I wasn't really sure it had the makings of a good shot.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have some photos in the files from a trip I took to Shiloh Battlefield back in 2006. I know you are a big fan of the Tennessee River, and visit there a lot (and have graced us with some beautiful shots from there) so I'll see what I can find to put up.

(208 posts)I'd like to see the full frame of that.
There seems to be more to the right that could balance that shot perfectly.
If that is full frame, crop for landscape, the mess with items mentioned by another commenter.
Very nice photo. Very nice. H/T
