As I go through my photos from today I have my feet in a trashcan of water - so they can revive. I dont know how much I walk every day right now - but I would say many miles is not an exaggeration.
Birgit said, if you lose more weight you will be a scare crow. So I eat everything I can stuff down, but I'm not here for that. Good stuff is mostly whats available here, and along with the excessive walking that seems to be keeping the population trim and healthy looking. Handsome, too. I'm looking at beautiful people in trim bodies wherever I look.
Slovenia, where FLOTUS I think originated - is just next door.
Ill post a few just to show you what I saw. As I go and hit one I like I mark it
. there is no energy with my feet in water and my body exhausted to make a theme of it,
and here they are

(131,292 posts)Very fortunately, when I visited a few years ago and was out on my own, family doing other things, I discovered this was being featured at concert hall, so heard The Moldau/Ma Vlast. Enjoy it, and relax!

(22,380 posts)Was on the Moldau this morning in a one hour slow boat tour. Hope to post some photos from it. But - as I have so much treasure in photos I may not get there til June. LOL
They played this music as we passed the Smetana museum, and the sounds of the river's waters made it just right.
Want it played at my funeral! (NOT on the horizon, but I live at a riverside and LOVE this piece, seems apropos!)

(24,324 posts)Interesting that I never really was crazy about it..... until I played it. :> ))
And noticing the other piece.. played the Dvorak several months ago.. small world...

(131,292 posts)and very different point of view; I don't play 'anything,' but did pretend to try to learn piano as a kid, so still think of this as 'mine,'

(10,138 posts)Your photos are beautiful. If you get a chance, go to the state opera house where Mozart premiered Don Giovanni. It is truly a jewel and well worth a concert or a tour.

(3,064 posts)Prague was already on my list. I've talked to Europeans who say it's the most beautiful city in Europe. It didn't suffer the damage so many cities did in WWII.
Then Vienna, Munich, Amsterdam, and winding up in Galway, Ireland.

(1,245 posts)It was so enchanting.
We were there for ten days and had a one bedroom apartment in the Lesser Quarter, near Prague Castle.
I loved every minute of our visit!
Your photos are beautiful!

(15,412 posts)He was going to make "a museum to a vanquished race" there. He sent jewish artifacts from places he conquered to Prague. They returned what they could after the war. He even kept the ghetto intact in Prague while destroying ghettos in other European cities. It is beautiful. The first time we went was in 1975 (imagine it with no tourists but not as colorful).

Slovakia and the Czech Republic were once together in Czechoslovakia, then separated in 1993.
Very confusing!
Edited to add: To make the confusion complete, Trump's former wife Ivana was from Czechoslovakia!

(32,854 posts)The great thing about Prague is that's it's the "sister city" of Vienna, however the lovely city of Prague was never bombed like Vienna was. Whenever movies need to show a scene of Old Vienna, they film in Prague to capture the atmosphere.
I love your photos, they are quite nice. Did you see much graffiti when you were there? I was so disappointed in the graffiti on the historic walls and buildings, and it was quite a problem. It spoiled the touristy part of the city, but I don't see any graffiti in your photos.
Nice!
Mira
(22,380 posts)YES - I saw graffiti, and tried to not have it in my photos. BUT - I also saw people who were painting over them in short shrift, and then some of them were quickly gone. I tried to not stress about it, knowing they are trying to stay on top of it.
Prague was never bombed like Vienna because the Führer had picked it as his future Capital of the 1000 year Reich.
He purposely kept the bombs away. I heard today that the movie "Amadeus" was filmed here - it's a favorite of mine.
I also was quite taken with how much Prague and Vienna are "sisters". For me, Vienna is "home" since that's where my grandparents lived, and now my cousins and an aunt, and also beause I lived there for one year as a 10 year old.
In Prague I don't speak the language.
Bummer.

(3,163 posts)I used to live in Atlanta, which I loved, by the way. Great city.
Anyway, my brother lived up in New Jersey and owned a home, part of which was built in the early 1700's. The rest was built early 1800's, and he was restoring all of it, carefully preserving the historical aspect. He was especially careful to keep the 1700's part in its original configuration, and the whole place was awesome.
He came to visit me one time and we were driving around as I showed him the city. He finally commented that he couldn't understand how, in a city which was that old, there were not any really old buildings. I just started laughing and he was, like, "What?"
"Ever hear of a general named Sherman?" I asked him. He had the good grace to be embarrassed.
