Related: About this forumAn interlude. Let me show you a PATERNOSTER
Paternosters are elevators that work like this, and are very rare in the world at this time.If you dont want to see the (short) link, just realize they are elevators on a slow roll up and around on the top and bottom that dont have doors - you just step on and off at your pleasure and risk.
Here are my photos of our riding the one in the video yesterday. We had so much fun - and laughed a lot. Its a bit tricky to get on and off, but we saw people casually doing so from having had practice and they were carrying files and office stuff. So this thing is in use.

Birgit already surmised why it is called Our Father and I thought her idea was possibly spot on. She thought the visual of the cabins turning an oval at slow and even speed resembled the praying of rosary beads.
This googled info seems to agree with her, and again, she makes me wondrous about her wit and intellect.

My post explains the name You're right in a way, because I was a little hesitant, in a minute though I was rolling along and adjusting and having fun.

(950 posts)8. There's a functioning
paternoster in Prague, in Lucerna Palace in the downtown core (not far from the National Museum) and there's one in Ostrava at the city hall, but I don't know if it's used daily or just for special occasions (state holidays, exhibitions, etc. - one of these days I'll have to go take a look.

... in the Parliament and other public places. Even my local hospital has a nice modern one. They are easy and fast to use. But if you ever try one, take good care to step out before the top or bottom - or be ready to do a very quick somersault!
