Shimmering and bright in the cold dark night

I visited Longwood Gardens (Kennett Square, PA) last night for one of the final nights of its annual holiday extravaganza. Thousands braved the bitter cold and wind to attend the sold-out event. This year's theme was "A Very Retro Christmas."

One of the world’s great gardens, Longwood’s story is one of legacy, innovation, and stewardship.
Our Gardens are a living expression of all that our founder, Pierre S. du Pont, found inspiring, meaningful, and beautiful. From the intricate fountain systems to the meticulous gardens to the architectural grandeur, awe-inspiring discoveries await at every turn.

Years before it was a public garden, the land on which Longwood Gardens stands was home to the native Lenni Lenape tribe and Quaker farmers. Since then, the land has undergone significant transformation to become the magnificent property that is enjoyed by more than a million guests each year.

Almost every one would make a beautiful Christmas card. Especially the 2nd, 3rd, and last one.

I bought photo postcard templates to print as gifts this year, but got poor results using the free software from the stationary company. Maybe next year.

Each one unique and gorgeous. It reminds me of the Rose Parade, although stationary!

I haven't yet explored all of the 400 acres that are open to the public. There are nearly 1,100 acres in all.

Thanks and you are most welcome!
