It's the 20-some-year-old jade that died two years ago. I took the photo in 2020. The other jade is the one that bloomed for the first time this fall.

2. I had a cat I named Riley, some years back.

I walked by him one day and saw him napping on the corner of a bookcase and thought, "This cat is living the life of Riley. He's got people opening doors for him, giving him food and water and affection, he's got a free meal ticket for life. He really is living the life of Riley." And so I decided, if he's living the life of Riley, he must be ... Riley! And that became his name.

When I was a kid in the 1950s and 1960s, I used to watch a TV show called "The Life of Riley" starring William Bendix as the title character, Chester A. Riley. I loved that show and never forgot it, even though it has been the late 1950s since I last saw an episode. I was born in 1949 and did not know that it was a radio show in the 1940s before it was a 1950s TV show. I only found out about the radio show when I got a Sirius satellite radio in my car and started hearing episodes of "The Life of Riley" on the old-time radio classics channel. Riley was the perfect name for my old cat.

There are quite a few episodes of "The Life of Riley" TV show on YouTube. Here's a link to one of them:

YouTube is amazing, it seems you can find almost anything there. Copyright problems seem to be the only thing that gets in the way.

Two beautiful and obviously happy cats on a lovely bedspread, with a wonderfully furnished room behind them!

What a peaceful, happy sight.

Thank you!

9. My father was the most cat loving man I ever knew. When I was a little girl, he used to tell me

that cats must always lie in the sun to charge up the motors that enable them to purr, with some special sunbeams that contain love. Your beautiful photo brought back those sweet old memories of my father and our cat family. Dad had a pet name for all our kitties and called them Mootsie (rhymes with footsie).
Your fur babies look so content as they charge their little motors
