2. Saw Him The Night He Died

My wife and i were there with a couple friends at Alpine Valley. SRV and Clapton.

Was quite the show.

We didn't get home until about 2am and we didn't wake up until about 8 only to see on the news that he died in a crash.

Was quite the shock.

5. I Was A Pinch Late To The Stevie Train

He hit at a time when i was more interested in other forms of rock and was not doing the blues based thing much, especially not in my playing. (In fact, at jam nights, my guitar player buddy used to introduce me to others as the guitar player that plays the "reds" not the blues.)

But, after hearing "Crossfire" i got more interested and when i heard he was on the bill with Eric that cinched it. So, we went up there and saw the show.

Had he not died, i think i would have gone to see him again. I do have 2 of his DVD's.

Released about one year after Vaughan's death in 1990, the album features ten previously unreleased tracks recorded between 1984 and 1989.

Only one title, "Empty Arms" (complete reprisal), appeared on any of the group's previous albums.
The tracks were compiled by Vaughan's brother, Jimmie Vaughan, in an effort to release the title track.
