Related: About this forumThe Loco-Motion -- Little Eva -vs- Grand Funk Railroad -vs- Kylie Minogue
"The Loco-Motion" is a 1962 pop song written by American songwriters Gerry Goffin and Carole King. "The Loco-Motion" was originally written for Dee Dee Sharp, but Sharp turned the song down.[1] The song is notable for appearing in the American Top 3 three times, each time in a different decade: in 1962 by the American pop singer Little Eva (U.S. No. 1); in 1974 by the American band Grand Funk Railroad (also U.S. No. 1);[3] and finally in 1988 by the Australian singer Kylie Minogue (U.S. No. 3).[4]

(13,206 posts)1. Little Evie is the only version that doen't make my heart cry
A young pop singer from the fifities singing this is ok.
But a hard rock band ham handing it is just bad... No to that one
And The pre-fabricated awefulness of the Kylie Minogue version hurts me as well

And I cannot disagree with you at all! But I do enjoy the toe-tapping Kylie version, in spite of the canned awfulness.

(13,206 posts)4. Thing is Kylie went on to release some pretty good music
later in her career.
It wasn't the Beatles, Dylan or Mozart, I mean it was mainly dance music, but it was good. Just the way the record company put her out with all the hype and nonsense bothered me.
And I still listen to Grand Funk occasionally, but not that song
