One of the first songs I learned. Was probably the the first song where I had(!) to play a barre chord.
It's been covered a few dozen times. Geez, I even recorded a version.

... pretty much the way most bands cover it. I like the faster tempo and now it's easier to dance, too. Some of the licks sound almost Allman Bros

Who left for Bad Company to be on more guitary band.
I was a huge Mott fan. Pre-Dudes. First of their albums I bought was Mad Shadows.
I had everything except Wild Life before I bought Dudes.
Saw them on The Hopple tour.

... the crowd was crazy for the Kinks particularly some asshole in the front row. At the end of a great set, the bass player came off the stage and ca-lobbered the asshole with his bass. Seriously teed off on his head. If he had hit him with the edge of the bass, I think there would have been an ambulance required.

Great concert, the Kinks were really good, too. And a 'tween set entertainment, too.
