Jewelry Making - Amazon Handmade

I have made jewelry and sold it for many years. I read about the new Amazon category, Handmade, so I applied and was accepted. Don't know if this is good or bad. I'd read about a jewelry maker who was in Amazon's beta program for Handmade and was doing really well selling her products, so I decided to give it a try. I have completed the application process and need to re-photograph my items, then I will ready to go. Does anyone know about this? Don't know if it is a good move or a bad move.

I think this is Amazon's answer to competing with Etsy. I have sold on Etsy and it is easy to use, but I didn't get a lot of extra sales from it and their searches sucked, although they have improved since then.

After messing with this for about six months, I closed it out. The software was buggy and programmers would not fix. The searches were worse than worse. I couldn't water anymore time fooling around with them, so I closed out my account.

But I wonder about the fees (that held me back from Etsy for awhile).

It seems like my (hot and cold) Etsy shop is starting to pick up. I'm also a fellow jewelry designer (with pussyhats here and there) and want to see some of my items under trees this year.

Jewelry's a crowded category on Etsy so I'm just trying to get the word out.

I have sold jewelry on both Etsy and Ebay. I have done better on Ebay, haven't tried Etsy in years. Thought about trying Etsy again as the traffic on Etsy has picked up and their searches are somewhat better, although there is still plenty of room for more improvement. I also have a website to sells vintage and antique Mexican items and I sell my Southwest and Mexican style jewelry there..

You can also sell on Facebook and Instagram. I like my website best as I have done all my own coding and only use Paypal, so my overhead is the lowest there. I do okay on Ebay, sell more conventional and ethnic jewelry there. I take spells where I want to make pretty, sweet jewelry, then over to Southwestern style, then into the African and Ethiopian styles. I usually make a piece, wear it and see how much comment I get. That is a good test.

Here are some pics of some of the jewelry I have sold.
