Fall / Winter 2018 turning projects

Here are some of the things I've been making in the shop..

I just finished a ring tonight- colored plywood infused with resin over a stainless steel ring core-


A set of pizza tools-


Another ring, this time african padauk-


A walnut live-edge bowl-


Two pens with seashell stamps cast in resin-


A salt and pepper shaker in colored plywood-


A live oak bowl (the tree came from a neighbor)-


A platter from the same tree-


And a small bowl from the same-


A rimmed bowl from london plane-


Two bottle stoppers in padauk-


and finally, a usb drive encased in a bradford pear box

Those are all amazing. Do you sell your stuff? Do you give lessons?

I do a certain amount of handwork myself, mostly crochet and embroidery, and as good as I think I am, I cannot hold a candle to you. Thank you so much for sharing.

I love handcrafted art. I especially like the live edge bowl.

I had a bumper crop of large gourds this year. I hope they have nice thick shells to try carving, as I've only painted them before. I want to try carved bowls.

Had no idea there was a crafts group! Will have to check it out.

I've seen some that look like they're baskets- folks have burned lines in them, and painted sections to look like woven basket patterns.

I've done a little bit of that, but want to get into it a lot more. I've seen some amazing pyrography.

All of my huge gourds are the warty kind. I'm hoping that will sand off smooth.

This is such beautiful work. All are gorgeous but I love love the pizza and pie utensils. The rimmed bowl is really stunning. I think I see the work of a perfectionist - kudos.
