Trivia: Heather O'Rourke kept the pet goldfish Carol Anne has in the film.

Trivia: Dominique Dunne (Dana Freeling) and Heather O'Rourke (Carol Anne Freeling) are both buried in Westwood Memorial Park in Los Angeles. Dunne was strangled by her ex-boyfriend on Oct. 30, 1982, in the driveway of her West Hollywood home. She never regained consciousness and died on Nov. 4 at age 22. O'Rourke died on Feb. 1, 1988, of intestinal stenosis at the age of 12.

Trivia: According to the book "Bette & Joan - The Divine Feud" by Shaun Considine, Davis and Joan Crawford had a lifelong mutual hatred, and a jealous Crawford actively campaigned against Davis winning Best Actress, even telling Anne Bancroft that if Bancroft won and was unable to accept the Award, she would be happy to accept it on her behalf. According to the book, on Oscar night Davis was standing in the wings of the theater waiting to hear the name of the winner. When it was announced that Bancroft had indeed won for The Miracle Worker (1962), Joan marched past Davis with barely an "excuse me" and swept onstage to accept Bancroft's Oscar.

Trivia: To promote the film, Davis traveled to 17 theaters across the state of New York in three days for personal appearances and helped give away promotional "Baby Jane" dolls to patrons with a "lucky envelope" under their seat.

Trivia: Bette Davis made the decision to create her own makeup for Jane.

Trivia: Not long before filming began, Colin Clive broke a leg in a horse riding accident. Consequently, most of Henry Frankenstein's scenes were shot with him sitting.

Trivia: Elsa Lanchester said that her spitting, hissing performance was inspired by the swans in Regent's Park, London. "They're really very nasty creatures," she said.

Trivia: Marilyn Harris, who played Maria, the girl The Monster accidentally kills in the original Frankenstein (1931), appears uncredited as another young girl. She is the leader of the group of young schoolgirls who encounter the Monster as he runs away from the blind man's burning house. Director James Whale deliberately gave her a one-word line ("Look!&quot , so she would be paid more by the studio as an actor with a speaking role, instead of as an extra.

Trivia: Boris Karloff protested against the decision to make The Monster speak, but was overruled. Since he was required to speak in this film, Karloff was not able to remove his partial bridgework as he had done to help give the Monster his sunken cheek appearance in the first Frankenstein (1931). That's why The Monster appears fuller of face in the sequel.

Trivia: The film was re-released in 1934, at which time the title credits were re-done, Arliss given billing as "Mr. George Arliss," and an NRA (National Recovery Act) emblem added; this is the version which presently survives. Unfortunately, the remainder of the film is cropped off the left side, in order to accommodate the sound-on-film system track, which had, by then, replaced the now obsolete Vitaphone sound-on-disc system, and required a slightly narrower picture image as a result.

Trivia: George Jessel, star of the stage version, was asked to play the role in the film, but refused over a pay dispute. Eddie Cantor was also asked, and also refused.
