I don't watch any other CBS shows, so I really don't want to subscribe to CBS All Access.

I guess I could wait until all of the episodes are released and watch them over a month (and then cancel), but that seems odd.

You get a free week, so you get ep. 3

Then wait for several episodes and buy a month.

This pay-only format will likely kill it, except as a pirated program.

I can't see people opting to pay for a fifth or sixth or seventh streaming service, at least not in numbers sufficient to fund the magnificent Ms. Yeoh's paycheck.

I haven't picked up all access yet so I haven't seen the next two episodes. I sort of wish they didn't put it in the prime Universe because there are already continuity issues. Yes I am one of those fans. I have watched every episode from all of the series many many times.

I found the pilot slow but I have read that the first three episodes are good in total.

You can watch episodes on CBS through the website. I watched Big Brother that way never paid for the all access.

My apologies for like extremely crap tv.

and now CBS wants me to subscribe to yet another service. There's already Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and godknowswhatelse charging, so who needs this crap?

Is this the wave of the future? Throw out a teaser and charge you up the ass if you want to see more?

And I do not want to watch a TV show on my goddam phone. I want to watch it on my 60" TV. I also don't want the wifi hotspots I find clogged with assholes watching TV so I can't check my email.

If you have access to torrent sites. Kind of risky now so I don't recommend it unless you're already into torrenting.
LMK if you need more info.

It kept aspects of the Trek reboot movies that, while not my favorite, I can live with (visual aesthetics/faster pacing/etc), while fixing some of the more major issues (mainly writing) that I had with those incarnations.

For $99.99 a year subscription you get ad free viewing of all CBS programming. That $8.33 per month, $1.66 per month saving over the $9.99 per month fee for ad free viewing. If you don't mind ads it's $5.99 per month.

I'd skip CBS "access" even if it was free.

One of the few things I liked about the reboot Star Trek movies was that Kevin still wasn't wearing any pants.

especially since Seth MacFarlane is a solid Democrat. He helped finance The Cosmos reboot and as donated a lot money to Democratic candidates.

I have'nt seen STD.

I've heard good things about it, and even if it only exists to piss off butt-hurt MRAs and Trump's chumps, it's a worthy venture.

16. The Orville is slowly growing on me once I viewed it more as a drama with occasional comedy.

Because it was Seth MacFarlane, I was expecting a gag a minute production.

Instead, it's basically a nostalgic tribute to Star Trek (especially TNG) with an occasional one-line comedy bit thrown in every so often.

I was initially rather disappointed but the episodes that followed have improved.
