I am losing my shit. I need to stay off Twitter and FB before I go nuts and punch

someone.

Sometimes I don't know just how angry I am getting until someone says something incredibly stupid and I go off on them. And God knows Trumpettes say plenty of stupid things.

If one more person says Democrats just want a handout from the government for themselves my head is going to explode. And that we are the real racists when they bring up how Lincon was a Republican.

What the Hell do I do? What do you do? How do you keep sane in this insane world we are in?

I know I have to stop going to those sites. Maybe if I label them toxic waste or something. I don't know.

You just have to follow your own advice. It would be ideal if we could open the eyes of the bigots and selfish types, but it so rarely happens on social media that it's not worth the effort, at all!

right on the edge of punching some white winger. I had to work at controlling my anger, although I think it was justified. I think that helped prepare me for this Trump crud. Good luck.

I actually have a tension headache after FB tonight.

Oh, I just thought I could unfriend the person that puts these political things up and starts firestorms!!!!!

Yeah me! It has only taken me years to learn.

Social media is not the real world. We got along just fine before it invaded our lives. We can get by without it.

Me, I look at FB less than once a week, and I only post something about every three months. Twitter? I don't even have an account, and the same goes for Instagram, etc.

It's all BS from people with nothing better to do, who probably have pathetic lives devoid of real human contact.

Remember the days when people used to talk face-to-face and we were polite to each other, even during a disagreement?

Yes so do I, and I'm in my 60s. I never owned a computer until I was well past 40. I lived my entire life without Facebook (still not on it) . I don't have a smart phone, and even I can see how social media has changed us.

Anyone can say rude, obnoxious - even illegal - things anonymously, and never face consequences for it. But we all have to live with their rudeness, because it can be read by everyone. Too many of us are having our lives and sanity affected by all of this.

I have trouble seeing any benefits from social media.

Whose ends are best served by the time you put into those "discussions"?

What is your goal in engaging in them?

If the goal is to win hearts and minds, remember that the first step is genuine connection. That's usually much easier to do in person.

And that today GOP is the party of racism.

It's pretty simple. We just have to stick up for ourselves.
