Kidnap - Halle Berry movie

This is a pursuit movie, much in the vein of Grand Theft Auto if the driver was a mom whose child had just been kidnapped. No one is safe on the street as Halle stays close to the kidnapper and breaks every speed zone, but never goes over 60 MPH. There are some twists, especially at the end, but the driving force in this movie is every parent's fear of losing a child in a crowded park. Halle goes through some unattractive freak-outs, which runs true to what would actually happen. But her desperation makes her mind sharper as the movie unfolds, where most of us would have run out of gas a lot sooner than she did.

Mostly, this movie will keep you wondering, "where the hell are the cops when you need one? It's the one time that even the black driver is praying for a driving while black citation. But until they arrive, your only real option is to break every rule imaginable to make sure you never lose sight of the kidnappers.

I see definite supporting actor nominations for the soccer mom van.

Most reviews put this movie at two stars. I yield to their greater knowledge.
