Wow! I never anticipated the previous thread to take off like it did!
So, I thought I'd give the next year a try!!
Here's my pick from 1969. I love the musical "Hair" to pieces, so this was a no-brainer for me:

(50,254 posts)'Fortunate Son' wasn't really inspired by any one event. Julie Nixon was dating David Eisenhower. You'd hear about the son of this senator or that congressman who was given a deferment from the military or a choice position in the military. They seemed priviledged and whether they liked it or not, these people were symbolic in the sense that they weren't being touched by what their parents were doing. They weren't being affected like the rest of us.[16]

The Beatles version is very good; but Joe Cocker's version is outstanding!
(He was great at Woodstock)
Joe Cocker died in 2014...He was 70.

Sorry, tried to find a youtube for this song but found nothing but rubbishy cover versions.

Also ... "I'm In Love With A Girl" by Big Star ...
Come 2 think of it ... inclined to cheat and pick 'Abbey Road' as the answer to this question. Just ... Abbey Road. Any of them.
But here's a few other candidates (the first one in particular is highly rec'd viewing ... Stills ... KILLS ... and Nash is a gas)

(54,476 posts)It was the only time the three of us have performed as a trio. The song he requested was "Wild Mountain Thyme"
The three of us rarely get together at all these days, due to geography (New Jersey/Northern Virginia/German Rheinland) and day jobs.
But for this, we all traveled to Palo Alto and put together this one family gig:
