(12,132 posts)Every since I can remember having birthdays. My dad used to shred the cheese and fry the tortillas but nowadays we just buy already shredded cheese and the tostada shells come in a box.
It's just a crunchy tostada shell with a layer of refried beans, hamburger, cheese and lettuce but I can't have a birthday without them.
And most of the year I use cheddar cheese and plain refried beans but on my birthday it's different. When I was a kid those things were too exotic for me so my dad would use American cheese and mash up van camp's pork and beans. So that's how I make mine for my birthday.
