(16,423 posts)Fry Hash Browns in a large pan on medium heat.
Meanwhile clean and chop rest of ingredients.
Remove Hash Browns from pan and keep warm.
Fry on large heat: 1 tomato and/or 1 small onion and/or a few mushrooms. And a few thick slices of blood-sausage. Do not stir.
When the tomato is browned, flip everything. Add a few small pork-sausages and bacon-strips.
When the bacon is done, put it on top of the vegetables to keep it away from the heat and arrange the meat and vegetables in a way so they divide the pan into two separated zones.
Crack 2 eggs into one zone. Pour 1 small can of Baked Beans into the other zone. Lower heat back to medium and cook for 10-15 minutes without stirring. The beans will be hot and the fried eggs will still have liquid yolk.
Serve with "HP-sauce". That's the british version of ketchup, except it's fruity-sour and spicy.

Maybe I'll make it when the weather turns.
Could you share directions?

(32,751 posts)know you are looking, or a local butcher. Make sure you get a femal or a fixed male. You don't want an older billy. You can also look for a Middle Eatern butcher or one that has a Mexican market. Lamb burger is great too and many larger stores carry it.
Did you know goat is this most eating meat in the world?

(32,751 posts)so I get it cut into steaks, ribs and the rest burger. Most folks like a lot of stew cuts.
I also buy lamb shanks in the store and cut it into steaks.

(14,565 posts)I don't know why I'm defaulting there so often but it's been ongoing for months. I buy the frozen types on Buy One Get One at Publix and keep tons in stock. This week they have the Boca version on that sale so I'll buy at least 12 boxes, paying for 6.
I throw them on the stove preheating for 5 minutes then 5 minutes on each side. Top with low sugar relish and low sugar ketchup and I'm fine.
This is typically my lunch although it's normally between 9 PM and 10 PM. I hate morning hours so I'm still on Las Vegas time despite returning to Miami. I'll have some dark chocolate as a side treat and also a container of Greek yogurt. Then I grab a bag of almonds and have several handfuls.
My blood sugar was a bit high last checkup so I've altered my diet with fewer carbs.
As obvious above, I refuse to use the common abbreviation for Buy One Get One. For whatever reason I hate abbreviations but love contractions.

Ordered out: Mango chicken curry from our local Indian place. Heaped over rice, and accompanied by a plate of nan.

(426 posts).....But, with a few provisos. Cabbage, not lettuce. No cheese, save that for the burritos or tacos. Crisp fried tortillas, not soft. Make that yellow corn tortillas, not white. Always use firm pacific cod; breaded and deep-fried, not battered; never Tilapia, which is NOT allowed in my house. A fresh salsa made with mango and avocado on top. Easy on the cilantro, I'm not a fan. My BF adores fish tacos, he could eat them 24/7.

(9,808 posts)Base of greens, chopped tomatoes, pickles, onions, a burger patty with cheese and dressing made from ketchup and mayo (on mine) or Siracha, mustard and mayo, with bacon crumbles for spouse.
We almost always have the ingredients on the shelf, it requires no thinking, and it's (relatively) healthy.

(9,808 posts)Spouse has insulin resistance; I have a family history of massively problematic metabolic/gut/obesity/diabetes/cardiac problems. So... if the choice is making 20 meals out of 21 relatively low-carb, then it's worth it.
But... seriously, cheez whiz? I mean, if it works for you, okay, it's all yours, but Boar's Head American or Kraft Deluxe (not the individually wrapped singles). Melts beautifully, less salty.
You know about cream cheese pancakes, right?
Floyd R. Turbo
(26,700 posts)politicat
(9,808 posts)Whirl them with a stick blender or in a blender until really smooth and frothy. Dash of vanilla optional if you want sweet ones.
The neat thing about the cream cheese version is they cool really well, and once cool, they're fairly sturdy for wraps if you make them big enough, and they can be used to wrap around egg roll filling and baked to make a semi-crunchy egg roll.

(57,734 posts)I'm at the library. I'm just about to leave. There's a Shoppers Food Warehouse about a mile and a half from here.
I have my bicycle. Unfortunately, I took the wine box from the rear rack before I left the house, so I'll have to get a suitable box at the SFW. I can strap the box to the rear rack and get the chicken home safely.
I'll get hit with a 10% prepared meal tax, which irks me, if I get the chicken. Also, I have to eat them in a hurry, as they don't hold up in the refrigerator. Also, my refrigerator is about to give out, so I'll have chicken running out my ears for the next few days.
The rotisserie chickens from the SFW consistently weigh much more than the stated weight. The package says 30 ounces, but I've known them to weigh 50 ounces. That's an outlier.
$5 ($5.50 with the meal tax), and I'm set for a double billing of the X-Files, or maybe Frontline.

(57,734 posts)Alexandria, Virginia. DC too.
The chicken is cooked and ready to eat, so it's considered a prepared meal. Food in VA is subject to a sales tax. The tax varies, depending on the kind of food. Trash food, 6%. Something nutritious, 2.5%, I think. I don't buy much nutritious food, so I don't keep track of that tax.
It will still be hot when I get home. Mmmmmmmmm.

(38,022 posts)Chicken piccata is my favorite but I live alone and am poor. I usually get canned chicken to add to curries and pasta dishes. With Tilapia I can get a 2lb bag of frozen filets for less than $10.

(38,022 posts)Of course, my weakness is the 8-piece fried chicken packs sitting next to the roasted ones.
But sadly, one can't really fashion piccata from pre-roasted chicken. The closest I can afford is to buy raw chicken-finger cuts and butterfly them, then lightly flour, sautee in butter/oil...and well, you get the picture.
