(111,435 posts)I honestly don't know how Taco Bell stays in business in this town. I guess a lot of people are afraid to come to my neighborhood to get the real thing, which is so much better. Taco Bell really is bland, it must be made for northern midwesterners, like people in Minnesota might think it was somehow authentic.
I've been eating a lot of tacos this summer, chicken asado sliced thin for the meat, all sorts of veggies and the hottest local salsa I could find, all crammed into a corn tortilla. They're pretty good, too. There is no tidy way to eat one.
But Taco Bell? Not a feckin' chance, people.

(11,686 posts)The only reason I have ever eaten there is because I got off work extremely late was very hungry and Taco Bell was on my way home so I got some tacos to tide me over until the next day. If I want fake Mexican food I either go to Quiznos or Taco Del Mar. Where I live we have two Mexican restaurants that are real Mexican food but Americanized. We have two that are authentic Mexican each from different regions of Mexico ( damn they are good. ) We also have a couple of I guess you call them taco trucks but they also do authentic though I do not know if they are region specific. I love beef tongue and three of the authentic places have meals with tongue. Taco Bell and Taco Time are both bad.
