I had a horrible job once, about sixteen years ago. Just awful, but I needed the money. I didn't have the luxury of quitting. But I got fired just when I didn't need the job anymore. I practically sailed out the door.

I was so happy, I put my happy-music on the car stereo and took a celebratory drive.
