(15,374 posts)I know he's gone to the big ones to make announcements, etc., but I really want him to sign autographs so I can get him to sign a VHS copy of, "Weird Science." Then I would ask him what he's been doing since then.
Want to do the same with Tom Hanks and a copy of, "Bachelor Party."

(32,587 posts)That's probably why he avoids the sci-fi shows.
If you're anywhere near Los Angeles maybe you can catch him at an opening for one of his movies.

(15,374 posts)Lou Ferrigno doesn't paint himself green, and he's at every convention hell or high water.
Ninety percent (maybe that's a little high) of the celebrities at them are either older and not what you would consider A-list anymore or are new ones promoting their shows. Some of them may do it because they need the extra cash. Others do it because they truly enjoy the fans. And there are combinations of both. Looking at the celebrity list of the upcoming Kansas City one, Ric Flair and Jerry Lawler are ones that I guess could probably use some extra money since they're not currently doing anything for WWE right now, and neither have a reputation of being smart with their money. Bret Iwan, the current voice of Mickey Mouse, is probably kept pretty sweet with the Disney Moolah, so he might just be doing it more because he likes to meet fans.
Right now, Robert Downey, Jr., is on top of the world, and while I'm sure he enjoys fans and doing special panels at the big conventions on the West and East coasts, I can't see him slogging through signing autograph after autograph or 8 hours straight, three days in a row anytime soon.
