Industrial Workers of The World Day With the modernisation of industry, a move from manufacturing to consumerism and a general shift in global market operations, industrial processes and businesses are much less common than they used to be. As such, its easy to overlook just how big a part industry still plays, and how many people are employed by industrial organisations working in industrial roles. Industrial Workers Of The World Day draws attention to these workers, and to their importance in producing the goods that we consume and rely on.https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/industrial-workers-of-the-world-day/Sunglasses Day Elton John has over a thousand pairs, Canadian singer Corey Hart only wears his at night, and you can tell the good guys from the bad guys in The Matrix by the shape of theirs. What am I talking about? Sunglasses, of course! Theres nothing quite as stylish as a pair of shades, so get out your aviators or your wayfarers and start celebrating Sunglasses Day! https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/sunglasses-day/
Pineapple Day Its our favorite fruit, a lush, prickly, green leafed ground fruit that is a delicious addition to just about any meal. Its sweet and tangy on its own and is practically the definition of the word tropical. Want to make something tropical? Put a slice of this fruit on it. Thats right, were talking about the apple that isnt an apple, the pine that isnt a pine, the pineapple! Pineapple day is dedicated to this most tantalizing little fruit and the greatest myth of all It doesnt grow on a tree. Didnt know that? Youre hardly alone, most people think this prickly fruit hangs on a tree like a coconut, Nope! https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/pineapple-day/

(205,074 posts)I have since bought a pomegranate myself, but I don't remember how they handled coconuts. I think that job was left up to my Dad...

(205,074 posts)When I was really little, I had a lot of Golden Books. My aunt used to get me one every week when we went grocery shopping. I remember one that was a kind of cookbook for kids, featured the Campbell's Soup kids, I think, LOL. The only "recipe" I remember was something like that - a pineapple ring with half a banana placed in the pineapple hole and a cherry on top. Not exactly "cooking," but I thought it was...
