WTF is going on around here this year???

first a Gila Monster, then a young rattlesnake in the house (I think this is becoming so damn common around here I didn't even post about it )

last night a big limb fell off one of the cottonwoods (and there were bees in there!)




this morning I had to deal with skunks number 3 AND 4 from under the house. since Monday!

both dogs have been hit and we lost a hen to them. arrgggh!!!

at least the score is better than usual in regards to skunks and chickens.

on the bright side, the chiles are starting! bought our first batch in Wilcox this morning.

2. People round here say mothballs keeps critters from going under the house

and supposedly keeps snakes away.
Lots of people also use lattice or other stuff to keep under the house free of most critters.

Our place is pretty secure from even snakes, which is good, cause we have found copperhead nests/dens/whatever for 2 years running in a nearby old shed.
