How is everybody tonight?
I'm just relaxing with some electronic Solitaire after an afternoon spent cleaning out some drawers that were full of junk that I haven't looked at in years.
It was time!

(22,901 posts)It was very hot up here in NorCal the last two days but I think it's going to cool off. I understand you had some rain? Lucky!
Cheers!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,754 posts)Yes, we got some pretty significant rain here....around maybe half an inch. Not sure.
But it was amazing! Lightning and thunder made for quite a show.
It has been a bit warmer than normal, and muggy, thanks to the tropical storm off Baja. Thank goodness for a/c.
Cheers!

I am watching it as my bedtime treat.

(53,339 posts)I mostly tune it out mentally, but every so often I hear a snippet of dialogue like "It ate my boyfriend and it killed the sheriff!"
Can't wait for the Sharknado 3 premiere on Wednesday!

(60,010 posts)He loves movies like that...the badder the better.
Ed Wood is a god to him, and ANY sci fi movie made in the 50's is cinema gold!

I'm just catching up here and trying to decide whether to go to our weekly veterans' breakfast in the morning. It would be nice to sleep in, but it occurs to me that it would be a good chance to see what vets here are saying about Trump. There should be at least 60 of us there, so it could be interesting.

(149,754 posts)It's OK, esp. when I remember to do my exercises.
I hope you go to your breakfast. It sounds worthwhile and entertaining.

(14,881 posts)got home, horses refused to come in. so eff'em, I let them spend the night outside but closed the barn up so they could wish they were inside. Hit the sack around midnight and instantly fell asleep, but woke up around 4am, maybe 4:30.
Still very groggy and tired, physically and mentally. The horses are standing in front of the barn door wanting to come in. They come in when I get around to it.
Not ready to face the day. I need at least 4 more hours of sleep.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,754 posts)Hope you get caught up on your sleep today, sometime! That sounds brutal.
And maybe, just maybe, the horses learned something...

(14,881 posts)I feel worst for Dahli. She wanted to come in; it's Maizie who used to live out and wants those old days back.
But they were both happy to get in for a bit this morning. It's humid as hell, and buggy as hell. Indoors was a relief. I rested and took my time while they rested and ate their dinner hay. Then I put them both to work and they did great! Now they're back outside grazing, but I suspect they'll be happy to come in for the night.
The lab was unreal. We normally fill a tub no more than half full with the days' urine cups. Well, our tub was overflowing to where we almost needed to get a 2nd tub. I have never seen it like that in the 4 years I've worked there. On busy days, the ED rooms fill and they line them up in the halls. It was like that all day and right about when I arrived at 1:30 they literally had run out of both rooms and hall space and had to call administration looking for places to stick people. Hot & humid, so syncope, dizziness, chest pains, dehydration and lo lytes galore!

(149,754 posts)I'm glad you got your ponies back!
And your shift at the lab! Hot weather really does a number on folks. Hope it settles down and soon!
